disguise vx 4 Media Servers Take Center Stage at 2020 TPi Awards in London
disguise was proud to be part of the 2020 TPi Awards held at the London-based Battersea Evolution earlier this February.
Produced by Mondiale Media, the annual TPi (Total Production International) Awards honour creative and technical achievements in live entertainment. The 2020 gathering hosted more than 1,700 delegates from the live event and touring industries.
The theme for the event was the disco vibe of 1970s New York when the famed Studio 54 was in its heyday. An arched LED video screen was flown on the main stage, and LED IMAG screens provided additional visual support. Content was triggered live; a sparkling 3D disco ball wrapped with images provided video transitions.
The event was a collaboration between Fix8 for project design, Visual Edge for content design and Production Manager Adam Dewhurst of On Event Production. 80six was the video supplier delivering the technical backbone and providing ROE Visual LED screens and creative LED products. At the heart of video control were two disguise vx 4 media servers driving the dynamic video on the main stage.
The disguise vx 4 server has been engineered to play back video at higher quality and resolution than ever before. It is optimised to play up to four times uncompressed 4K60 and lossless 10-bit video. It can capture either 16 3G-SDI sources or four 4K sources. The vx 4 enables the application of color profiles and offers a choice of content quality with a roster of industry-recognised codecs. The ultra-rugged system ships with the latest in disguise’s VFC technology, the HDMI 2.0 VFC cards.
